Welcome to Our Place/Nau mai, haere mai

Our Places - Eastern Bay of Plenty Spatial Plan provides a roadmap for the Eastern Bay sub-region, to help plan for growth and development over the next 30-plus years.

We want to hear from communities across the Eastern Bay: How can the region grow and develop, while making sure it remains one of the best places in New Zealand to live, work, play and visit.

Over the past year, the Our Places project team has collected data that’s informed three scenarios abut how we could achieve our goal.

On this page, you can provide feedback on Scenario 1 as well as others. Scenario 1 is based on what we know now about land use, climate change and the impact of natural hazards, economic development and population growth.

Before we make any decisions, we want to know if we got this right, as well as what else you’d like to see included and considered in our future planning.

What are your thoughts about where to plan for 5,500 new houses and land for businesses by 2055?

What do you want us to think about and plan for to support your community and other communities across Eastern Bay?

Have your say on our other options

There are two other scenarios being investigated for the Eastern Bay of Plenty spatial plan and it is important to us that we hear your thoughts on them. Please provide feedback in the designated box below.

If you would like to present your feedback

If you would like to present your feedback then you can do so at a meeting with our Project Governance Group on 2 December 2024. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch by 5pm, 17 November 2024 by emailing kiaora@ourplacesebop.org.nz

Before you go we'd like you to tell us a bit more about yourself - this way we can better understand our communities and, by sharing your email, we can keep you up-to-date about how the spatial plan takes shape.
